HEAVEN'S KITCHEN

Heaven has one main meal of choice for all of us, and that dish consist of Jesus Christ himself, Yeshua, the Messiah. Being prepared by God himself, Jesus was sent down to this earth in order to provide us with a healthy lasting spiritual meal that will last for an eternity. Today we will learn about this meal called “the Bread of Life.”

At the center of all life in ancient times, during the times of Jesus and earlier, it was thought that without bread, there was no life. Bread was called the principle food. In eastern culture it has been estimated that three-fourths of the people live entirely upon either bread or upon that which is made from wheat or barley flour.

The Palestinians of ancient antiquity believed bread to have a mystic sacred meaning. In some places they have such a reverence for bread that they will not arise to open the door for a guest, if in the middle of breaking bread together, but instead will wait until they are finished. Everything about bread from the sowing of the seed to the baking of the loaves was done in the name of God.

In light of the history of bread in ancient times, we can also see that same importance in why the prayer spoken by Jesus expresses, “Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

Jesus Christ also says,

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

(John 6:47)

“I am that bread of life.”

(John 6:48)

In these verses Jesus clearly makes a claim that only God can make: I am the Bread of Life! He gives a perfect symbol for the satisfaction and life that only He could bring. The bread which Jesus offers is nothing else but the very life of God. This is the true bread which can truly satisfy the hunger within our hearts.

The manna from heaven that Moses and the Israelites partook of only foreshadowed the true manna which Jesus was referring to when he said, “I am that bread.”

The manna of the wilderness sustained the Israelites on their journey to the Promised Land but it could not produce eternal life for the Israelites. It could only satisfy a temporary hunger.

The bread of life Jesus refers to as Himself is everlasting, and will never mold or spoil.

The bread which Jesus offers His disciples sustains us not only on our journey to the heavenly paradise, the Promised Land, but also gives us the abundant supernatural life of God which will sustain us both now and for all eternity.

When we eat from Heavens kitchen, receiving the Bread of Life from the Lord’s Table we unite ourselves to Jesus Christ, who makes us sharers in His body and blood and partakers of His divine life. This supernatural food is healing for both body and soul, and strength for our journey heavenward. Do you hunger for God and for the food which produces everlasting life?

Will you allow God, the Chef and King, to serve you?
